i love traditional mozzarella sticks. so, when i found this recipe for mozzarella sticks that are made with egg roll wrappers, i couldn't wait to try it out. admittedly, these are not the healthiest snack . . . but they are a nice treat once in a while, and they are so very easy to make!
{roll each mozzarella stick starting from the corner of the egg roll wrapper}
{tuck in the sides of the egg roll wrapper and keep rolling}
{seal the ends of the egg roll wrappers with a dab of water}
{fry each side in vegetable oil for about 60 seconds, or until brown}
{place on a paper towel to absorb the residual oil}
{serve with marinara sauce for dipping, and enjoy!}

So how were the mozzarella sticks?
Were they as tasty as the ones coated with Italian bread crumbs?
Since the wrappers seem more sturdy and won't leak melted cheese, I wonder if you can put a little sauce inside the wrapper then cook.
Oooohhh, my husband would LOVE this!! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Seems real simple to make, that's my kind of recipe!
mama,
they were good, but not nearly as good as yours with italian bread crumbs.
that sounds like a good idea to put sauce inside of the wrapper! we will have to try that!
