snippets from the weekend . . .

^we kicked off the weekend by going to a baseball game on friday night after work.  it was so much fun and we had a really great time.  the weather was beautiful too.  it was such a gorgeous night to sit outside.^

^on saturday morning, i woke up to breakfast in bed.  what a way to wake up on the weekend!  such a treat!  that husband of mine is so sweet.   he knows i love chocolate chip pancakes.  (he even brought me warm maple syrup too!)  it was such a nice surprise.^

^we helped my mom shop for granite for her kitchen counter tops on saturday.  oh my goodness, there were so many different granite colors and patterns!  it was really cool to walk through the rows and rows of granite slabs.^

^one of our sweet co-workers gave us a ton of fresh rhubarb from her garden.  it grows like crazy at her house, and she has so much of it she doesn't know what to do with it.  she filled a 5 gallon bucket with rhubarb stalks for us.  once we washed and cut it all, we measured it and it came out to 8 pounds!  we gave some to my mom and dad because there is no way that we can possibly use that much rhubarb by ourselves.  bring on the rhubarb recipes!^

^since the weather forecast called for rain on sunday afternoon, we went on a little date to the movies.  it was the first time we have seen a movie in such a long time.  if you've seen the jersey boys musical, you'll love the jersey boys movie.  it was really good!^

^after the movie we went out for dinner at red robin.  we got chicken sandwiches (i love their bruschetta chicken burger).  after we ate, we got a free mountain high mudd pie for dessert!  it was absolutely huge, and free!  what a great way to end the weekend.^
