nyc: andaz wall street hotel

when we were in nyc this weekend celebrating our anniversary, we stayed at the andaz wall street.  we chose to stay down in the financial district because it was far less expensive than staying in midtown.

before our trip, ryan looked through hundreds of hotel options online (god bless his patience).  out of all of the hotels that he looked at, the andaz was one of the nicest hotels for a really decent price.  it has great customer ratings and reviews on trip advisor, and it is currently ranked number 25 out of 451 hotels in nyc.

our goal was to spend less than $250 per night (which we thought would be difficult in nyc without getting a hotel that was a total dump).  we booked a standard king room for $225 and then found the same room listed for $177 on kayak.  i contacted the hotel, and they said that they would match the price and give us an additional 20% off!  we really couldn't believe that the price of the room came down to just $137.  talk about a good deal!

when we checked in on friday night, we were surprised to find out that we were upgraded from a standard king room to a suit.  (i'm still not sure how that happened, but i'm not complaining!)  the hotel was absolutely wonderful and our room was great.  all of the staff were great, and the check-in and check-out process was so simple and easy.  all of the rooms at the andaz have 11-foot tall ceilings and are 345 square feet (which is absolutely huge for nyc).  we were thrilled with the experience and would definitely stay at an andaz hotel again!

here are a few pictures from our stay . . .

^the andaz wall street is located right on the corner of wall street and water street in the financial district.  it is just two blocks away from the wall street subway station too.  really convenient!^
^the hotel is pet friendly.  they even keep food and water for pets right outside the front door!^
^they have bikes available for hotel guests to use.  we didn't get a chance to use the bikes while we were there on this trip, but we definitely will when we go back!^
^we loved how the hotel lobby and the staircases were illuminated in purple lights.  it was really pretty.  there are complimentary americanos, lattes, and cappuccinos in the lobby 24/7.  they also have complimentary snacks in the lobby like fresh fruit and cookies too.  that was an awesome perk!^
^ryan loved how the room numbers were lit on the wall next to each door.^
^there was a large flat screen tv on the desk which pivoted so you could see it from anywhere in the room.^
^there was a 2-foot deep soaking tub smack in the middle of the room with see-through glass walls.  sexy?  you bet.^
^the closet spun around in a circle.  such a good idea to save space.  there was a ton of storage space in the closet, and a huge mirror on the other side.^
^we each got a pair of complimentary slippers to take home with us too!^
^the bathroom was decorated all in black tiles.  the shower was absolutely huge.  there was a bench and a overhead rain shower head.^
^our room had a king bed with a cordless phone on one side and an iphone/ipod dock on the other side.^
^ryan loved playing with all of the different light settings.  the blackout curtains on the window were pretty cool too.^
^the desk was large and there was plenty of work space and seating.  not sure why you would need two phones in the room, but there were two!^
^since it was our anniversary, ryan surprised me by having chocolate-covered strawberries delivered to our room.  they were really tasty, and it was a nice treat!^
^there were complimentary snacks and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages in our room too.^
^and last but not least, who can resist a window seat?  it ran the entire length of the window, and we both fit on it.^

Wow! That is a swanky hotel. The tub is huge right in the room. I cannot believe that they gave those slippers. They have a great logo with the different shape letters and colors.
A purple lobby, that is different.
Interesting dish the strawberries came on, was that for you to keep?
I am sure that you two enjoyed yourself tremendously.
By the way, Ryan really look like his brother in the picture sitting in the window.

Looks nice! I can't say I've ever stayed in a hotel with a tub in the middle of the room... Haha. Love the bikes that they had for you to use :) Hope you both had a wonderful anniversary!
