^sunday indian lunch date^
this weekend was a good one. for the first time in a long time, we didn't have anywhere to be this weekend. it was so nice not having any commitments and not having to run anywhere. we really enjoyed spending the entire weekend at home. we were able to get a bunch of necessary chores checked off our to-do list which left us feeling super productive!
to welcome september, we went shopping for mums and planted them in our front yard. i just love decorating with mums in the fall. we cleaned our house from top to bottom, and we did a ton of yard work on saturday and sunday. it sure was a good workout. we spent a lot of time on saturday taking down our swimming pool for the season. it is always such a big job, and i'm glad it's done for the year now. after spending the whole day working on saturday, we went to a local ice cream shop near our house for some pumpkin ice cream. it was a nice little reward for all of our hard work. we finished off our saturday night by curling up and watching the newest james bond movie which we have been wanting to see for a while.
we started our day on sunday morning with cinnamon swirl pancakes (we love this recipe) and we ran some necessary errands. we went out for indian for lunch before coming back home and tackling some more yard work. we have a bunch of trees in our yard that we have been neglecting, so we spent a good portion of our day on sunday outside trimming the trees. the weather was so nice, we didn't mind doing all of the yard work at all. we filled eight large buckets with all of the tree trimmings! i'm glad that project is done now!
we kept busy this weekend and we really enjoyed being able to spend time at home. the weather is really starting to feel like fall. i'm always sad to see summer go, but i think i'm officially in the mindset for fall now!
hope everyone had a great weekend!
love, laurie

Oh my gosh, those packages look incredible! On my list to make this weekend! :)
It does feel like fall. I am ready for some beautiful colored leaves. I even put on my fall tablecloths already. I normally wait until close to the end of Sept. I guess I am in the mood too.
