i had the unlucky "privilege" of receiving a jury summons in the mail recently. i was keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that i would not have to report, but as it turned out i had to report to the county courthouse on easter monday. gross. i was there for 9 hours on monday and then had to go back for a few hours on tuesday morning. it was completely ridiculous that the jury selection process took two days. i was bored out of my mind. what a glorious waste of time.
luckily, i wasn't chosen as a juror for the case so i was dismissed tuesday afternoon. i certainly hope that i don't have to go through that process ever again. i had a poor opinion of our local judicial system before all of this, and i have an even worse opinion of it now. i'm really glad that waste of time is over and that i can go back to work like normal today.

Good thing it did not go into your vacation. Would your school kids be happy or sad that you might not have been there?
