on saturday, we celebrated new years eve with my parents. we went out to see la la land and then came back to our house for dinner. we had eggplant parm with homemade pasta followed by ricotta with strawberries for dessert. we capped off the night by curling up on the couch in our pajamas with leko to watch the times square ball drop on tv.
on sunday, we celebrated new years day with our families at my parents' house. my mom made her traditional pork and sauerkraut meal for dinner and then we enjoyed key lime pie and leftover christmas cookies for dessert. we had a great time ringing in the new year with our family this weekend!
2016 was a pretty rough year for us. there were certainly many pleasant moments sprinkled throughout the year, but overall it wasn't our best year, so we're determined to make 2017 a whole heck of a lot better than 2016. fingers crossed!

Yes, even though 2016 had its ups and downs, we still have a lot to be thankful for. Here is to a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year. We had fun celebrating with you both on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. We are definitely thankful for the both of you.
