we celebrated the fourth of july with our families on tuesday. we started off the day by taking a step back in time and learning a bit about our local history on the lackawanna coal mine tour. it has been awhile since we last took the tour, so it was nice to see it again (and you can't beat free tickets)! the temperature and humidity was out of control on tuesday since were in the middle of a crazy heatwave, so it felt nice to be in the "natural air conditioning" of the coal mines 300 feet underground!

The mine tour was really interesting. What an ordeal these poor men and boys had working in the mines.
