it's our long-standing tradition to visit our local italian festival each year on labor day weekend. we love the great food and the memory that it was were ryan and i went on our very first date back in 2004. (someone mentioned to me last week that she never goes to the festival and i was shocked. are you kidding me? this festival is like a religion to me!)
we headed down to the italian festival on sunday evening with our parents to have some dinner and watch the fireworks. the weather was great! ryan and i headed back down on monday night before the festival closed to grab a quick bite to eat and some dessert right before a crazy storm came. talk about good timing!
^deep fried pizza! it was so good and wasn't greasy at all. the dough was incredibly light and fluffy!^
^gnocchi with a delicious sauce^
^a lobster tail pastry stuffed with cannoli filling - by far the best dessert we have ever had in all of our years at the italian festival!^
let the countdown begin for next year's festival! ;-)
love, laurie
