one of the classes that i'm teaching this summer at the dance studio is first-year pointe class. i'm thrilled because pointe is one of my favorite genres to teach.
yesterday was a big day for my first-year pointe students. we all took a trip down to the dance shoe store for them to get fitted for their first-ever pair of pointe shoes. this was an extra big deal for this class of girls who had to wait an extra year to go on pointe because of the pandemic, so this was a long time coming for them.
i was thrilled to be there with them helping the store owner find the best pair of shoes for each of the girls based on their different feet and strengths. the store owner was so great and spent so much individual time with each girl. she even had speciality sugar cookies decorated like pointe shoes for each girl. i can't wait to get them in the studio this week on their new shoes!

That is an experience that they will remember forever, since you made it so special for them. I still remember the joy and thrill of getting my first pair of pointe shoes.
