when it's getting chilly outside and dad's jeans come out of the dryer nice and warm, you claim them as your blanket for the day . . . naturally.

every moment of time in between work, classes, and dance has been dedicated to working on the costumes for the show that i am costume designing for at the university. it's the final push to get everything ready. slowly but surely, i'm getting there. the punch list is getting a little bit shorter. fingers crossed that we make it on time for costume parade on monday!

a good portion of time on sunday was dedicated to getting the materials needed to build the set for the show that we are working on at the university. there was no way that all of those supplies were going to fit in our petite ford ranger, so ryan was able to use one of the university vehicles to haul everything. they let him take the ford 250 super duty and whoa, nelly, was that thing big! when i stood in front of it the hood was up to my eyeballs, it was so tall! of course he drove it like a pro and had a blast doing so. you know, boys and their toys! ;-)

on saturday we worked a show with two separate bands at the thaeter: a santana tribute called "se acabo" and the glass prism. like many of our other shows, this show was postponed due to the pandemic so i feel like i've been workin on this show forever. honestly, i'm glad we all survived this one, it was a doozie! you can check out the rest of the photos that i took of the show on the theatre's facebook page here.

we have had this tiny rose bush for a long time. we moved it to the front yard and it got upset and turned into pathetic sticks with no leaves and no flowers. we just recently moved it to the back yard and were shocked to see leaves and roses! so glad it came back to life and gave us some flowers in september!
have a great weekend!

this month our baby boy turns 10 years old! last night, ryan and i were reminiscing about when we first brought leko home and how tiny he was back then.
we absolutely can't believe that he's a decade old, how did that happen?! we're celebrating our baby all month long with lots of extra hugs, kisses, and tuna of course!

on saturday we had a carpenters tribute concert at our theatre. this show, along with the rest of our fall series, was postponed because of the pandemic, so i've been working on this show for 2 years now!
i'm glad we finally got to have the show, and it went great. here are just a few of the many photos i took during the show. you can see more of my photos on the theatre's facebook page here.

leko looooves the basket chair that we have in our living room. he was so cute on sunday when he propped himself up in the chair, i couldn't resist taking a picture!

i've mentioned numerous times that my favorite end of summer tradition is visiting our local italian festival over labor day weekend. it's especially important to us since it's where we went on our very first date back in 2004.
we were so sad that the festival was canceled last year because of the pandemic, so it made it even better to have it back this year after two whole years of waiting!
we headed down to the italian festival on friday night after work to grab some dinner and watch some entertainment. we went back down again on sunday night for dinner and fireworks. we finished off the weekend by heading down on monday for one last time for lunch and entertainment.
let the countdown begin for next year's festival!
we enjoyed the nice weather over the weekend by getting together with our families for a little hike and picnic. it was so nice to be able to have the weekend off and relax!
