curious kitty

leko is a curious kitty for sure.  one place he never goes is the downstairs bathroom.  the other day he scratched at the door so i let him in and he jumped right up on the toilet and looked out the window.

a very rare occurrence

noah never stops.  never.  he wore himself out the other day and laid down on my lap on the couch for a few minutes.  it didn't last long before he was recharged enough to keep going.  i cannot understand why this kid doesn't like to sleep or rest.

80!

on friday we went down to my parents' house to celebrate aunt ruth's 80th birthday!  my mom made delicious lasagna and chocolate/raspberry cake.  it was so nice to celebrate aunt ruth!

not too sure where he learned this from but he has good form.  (don't worry, we always keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't hurt his neck!)

water attacker

someone attacked my water glass recently and worked hard trying to figure out how to drink out of it.  he doesn't completely have the hang of it yet, but he's getting there.  he really enjoyed blowing bubbles in it though!  needless to say we both got wet.  reminded me of his furry brother.

rollin' around the grocery store

after thoroughly sanitizing the shopping cart noah really enjoyed rolling around the grocery store this weekend picking out his yum for the week!  he had himself a good time!

i spy leko

i peeked in noah's playroom the other night and found leko resting on the overturn stuffed animal hamper bag.  i guess leko figured that he would enjoy the room for a little while since noah wasn't using it and was getting ready for bedtime!

noah in the snow - attempt #2

it snowed again this past week so we tried to take noah out in the snow for a second time to see his reaction.  the first time we took him out he didn't want to walk in the snow at all.  this time he once again enjoyed getting all bundled up and was brave enough to walk a little bit on his own in the driveway while we shoveled.  

once again he did not like getting cold and i really don't blame him!

i looked out of the bathroom door the other day and saw king leko posing on his favorite pink fleece blanket on the bed.  stunning, leko!

in the big chair

one piece of furniture we couldn't get rid of when we moved was the old basket chair we have had since college.  leko loves it too much for us to part with it.  we usually keep a bed sheet over it to make it easy to clean off all of the fur that collects on it.  

noah decided to try out the basket chair for the first time recently and he loved it!  we told him that he is going to have to share because it's brother's favorite.  (we also had to lint roll him because he was very furry!)

for the love of cheese

this kid positively loves mozzarella cheese sticks.  it's so funny because i hadn't had a cheese stick in decades until my mom got noah hooked on them recently!  he loves them!

noah's first big snow storm

it snowed and snowed and snowed on my birthday.  the next morning, we woke up to a very white landscape outside.  we bundled noah up in his new snow attire and took him out for an adventure in the snow.  we thought he would love walking in it, but nope!  he did not want to walk in the snow at all and tolerated the sled for a little bit before he was over it.

the funny thing was that he was really excited to get all suited up in his snow gear but then didn't want to be outside.  granted, it was extremely cold and windy.  poor guy . . . i don't blame him, i'd rather be warm inside too!

birthday celebrations

since it was a snowy weekend, we celebrated my birthday on tuesday with our parents.  everyone came over to our house for dinner and cake.  noah thought it was pretty funny when i blew out the candles and missed one.  he also really enjoyed opening up the presents!

my birthday

my birthday was on saturday and i was happy to have my birthday fall on a weekend this year but bummed that the weather forecast was terrible.  there were things i really wanted to do on my birthday, but mother nature (and a very irritable teething baby) had other plans . . . extremely rude!

we ran out in the morning before the snow started to get take out for lunch for later in the day from henry's on clay.  the last time i was there was the day before i had noah and i have really missed it.  we got a few things to share for lunch and got a cupcake to split too.

i have really been wanting to do my finger nails ever since i've had noah but i never have the opportunity.  in fact, i haven't painted my nails since our baby shower in july 2022!  i still can't paint them because they would never dry with noah around so i used some nail polish wraps that i had left from when i bought several on etsy years and years ago.  luckily they were sill good and it made me feel festive.  noah wasn't too sure what to think of them when he woke up from his nap.

we stayed inside, looked at the awful snow coming down outside (boy did we get a lot), and streamed the taylor swift eras tour concert which i had been dying to see.

sneaky boys

those sneaky boys of mine hid several of leko's cat nip mice in an empty cardboard egg carton.  it has been a very fun play toy for them lately!

flipping through his magazine

ryan's aunt bought a subscription to highlight's "hello" magazine for noah for his first birthday.  noah has been loving looking through the magazines when they come in the mail each month.  our favorite section is the "find it" page which is like an eye spy.

mr. snowman

we didn't really have time to decorate the new house for christmas this year.  so, we ran to a store last minute right before christmas and bought this 8-foot blow up and light up snowman.  we've never owned one of these things before but we liked the idea of how easy it was to just plug it in and have a decoration outside since we didn't have time for much else.  

the night we brought it home we tested it out inside before putting it outside.  noah was mesmerized by it and wasn't too sure what to think at first.  he soon came around though and since has been enjoying looking at it out the window every day.

ringing in the new year

we celebrated new year's eve on sunday at ryan's parents' house.  we got together to eat (of course) and play with noah.

on monday, we headed down to my parents' house to celebrate new year's day.  it was a nice way to ring in the new year!

12 years with leko

today marks 12 years since we adopted leko!!!  our hearts always burst on january 4th since it marks the day we brought our little fur baby home and we love him so much!  of course, he's going to be spoiled all week with extra kisses and tuna!  above are a few of the many, many pictures that we took of our lover this past year.

tunnel fun

ryan folded noah's playmat in half and propped it up on the couch to make a fun tunnel.  both noah and leko really got into it and enjoyed walking underneath it!
